Recently I came across the Denver Government website and it had a great overview of various Denver neighborhoods. Sloan’s Lake real estate is booming. Here’s their overview of the Sloan’s Lake also called Sloan Lake:

sloan's lakeTwo connected lakes, Cooper and Sloan, comprise Sloan Lake’s 177 acres and are a focal point of the Sloan Lake neighborhood, bordered by West 29th Avenue, West 10th Avenue, Federal Boulevard and Sheridan Boulevard. Primarily residential with the majority of homes built in the 1930s, pockets of 1800s structures exist in nearby historic districts, including the eclectic mix of houses on 14th Avenue and Stuart Street. Each unique in design, the 1890 Voorhees House, the 1888 Spangler House, the 1890 Smith House, the 1892 McNulty House and the 1892 Bliss House reflect beautiful architectural styles of the era.

green lawnYesterday, I was at a closing where I represented the buyers. A very nice family that bought a gorgeous home in Littleton. When we first visited the home, the couple and I were amazed at how green the lawn was. So..yesterday during the closing, I asked the seller, How do you keep your lawn so green? He laughed and told us about this fertilizer called Revive. He applys it a couple of times a summer and says it works magic on his lawn. He also spreads iron and is a believer in the Scott’s Lawncare program. Its amazing what you learn at closings…

Seattle is America’s brainiest city, according to an analysis of educational data culled from U.S. Census data by

Bizjournals.com.

Seattle is followed by San Francisco and Austin, among large cities. More than 40 percent of adults in these cities have bachelor’s degrees.

Rounding out the top 10 smartest big cities are Colorado Springs, Minneapolis, Charlotte, N.C., San Diego, Washington, D.C., Portland, Ore, and Albuquerque.

Arlington, Va., is the brainpower leader among medium-sized places. Sixty percent of its adults have bachelor’s degrees, two and a half times the national average.

Topping the rankings of small communities is Ann Arbor, Mich., the home of the University of Michigan.

The study found that Miami has the lowest brainpower of any large community. Just 16 percent of Miami’s adults have earned bachelor’s degrees, which is 31 percentage points behind Seattle’s rate.

Recently I came across the Denver Government website and it had a great overview of various Denver neighborhoods. Washington Park real estate is booming. Here’s their overview of the Washington Park neighborhood also called Wash Park:

Built in 1899, the 162-acre Washington Park, with Smith and Grasmere lakes each ending the long grassy meadow, is a local recreational haven. The three-story red brick 1926 South High School, complete with griffins perched on its roof, overlooks Washington Park from the southeast corner. From I-25 to Cherry Creek and from University Boulevard to Downing Street, the neighborhood is rich with entertainment, like the cluster of small shops and restaurants on South Gaylord and South Pearl Streets.
