Your Personal Guide for a Smooth Denver Real Estate Experience

JayHicks-Residential Broker

What is a guide?

Ancient themes include protector, counselor, advisor and leader. Webster defines a Guide as 'directing towards a course of action', 'someone who points out interesting places'. Guides do not always provide all the answers, a true guide allows you to see the path in front of you as you select the best course. Expect that your guide will place your best interests ahead of their own and confidently protect you when the path turns a corner or finds a bump in the trail.

So what does this have to do with Real Estate and your visit to this website? I open up with this discourse to set a tone, share what values I believe in and most importantly convey a sense of security when you choose me to guide you through your Personal Real Estate Journey. A journey customized for you from someone who listens intently, interprets, synthesizes the facts, is patient and a strong client advocate and negotiator.

That experience is waiting for you when you call Jay Hicks, a Residential Broker that has over 10 years of street smarts working in the Denver Real Estate Market.

Let's continue...

Jay and his wife bought their first home in 1997 at 3255 Newton, a beautiful Denver Square built in 1906, 2 blocks from 32nd & Lowell. He completely managed remodeling a 1906 home from top to bottom and knows what the challenges are when fixing up an older Denver Home. His network of contractors, handypersons, electricians etc., is invaluable as you undertake a home remodel.

He moved to the Highlands back when there was a furniture outlet where Chipotle's 3rd store is today. Back when Mead Street Station was the only neighborhood hangout, back when LOHI was pretty much a dangerous place to hang out after dark. Denver Highlands was an up and comer and in early stages of massive transformation. Jay has worked extensively in the West Highlands, Berkeley, Sunnyside, Sloan’s Lake and Lo-Hi areas for years and loves to show homes in these historic Denver neighborhoods.

Today, after a move to the amazing Sundance Hills neighborhood in Greenwood Village, Jay is expanding his client base to include a focus in Greenwood Village, Englewood, Cherry Creek, Centennial, Lone Tree and Highlands Ranch neighborhoods. Olde Town Littleton and its surrounding areas is a new interest area.

Over 25 years of client centric experience...

In 2004, after many successful years in high tech corporate sales and sales management, he successfully entered in the real estate business and has been a top producer ever since.   You may read his testimonials here to learn about the experiences other clients have had when they list and buy their Colorado home.

After graduating from CU Boulder with a degree from the Leeds School of Business, he started out selling Macintosh Computers in Lakewood, way before Apple Stores were created and now hip and cool. He then was recruited by NYNEX (now Verizon) to lead the charge in selling computer networks and services to the top companies in Colorado. After successful Sales & Sales Manager positions selling WAN Network based solutions, Enterprise Software and Wireless Messaging Platforms, Jay decided to take a break from the Corporate environment to embark upon an entrepreneurial path.

And Finally.....Brewed in Colorado.... – Wait, why is he discussing Beer in a Bio?

Read on, my friend…

Jay opened up Atlantis Brewing Company in 1996, distributed kegs and cases to over 12 states, won Best of Westword for their Pale Ale category in 1997 with his flagship Ancient Whale Ale. He then introduced a second beer called Ancient Cherry Ale amidst the fruit beer frenzy of the late 90’s. Jay and his wife (before kids) would travel to beer fests all over Colorado serving his craft beer to old and new friends along the way. So if you are a Denver Craft Beer fan, he has countless stories from the beginning years of the Colorado beer revolution. He'd love to share them with you while looking at homes or selling your Colorado home.
